Great marriage proposal ideas for the shy guy
Being a shy person doesn’t mean you can’t pull off a great proposal or ruin your proposal all together. The more cocksure and outgoing people also get pretty nervous when it is time to pop the big question, with worries about the timing, audience etc. Please don’t worry too much about the proposal being perfect. Once you put a little thought into it, proposals are always magical, but then, please have the cameras ready!!!
- At a Restaurant:
Restaurants are one of the most popular places for proposals. Choose a nice restaurant with good ambience, food and wine. If you want the restaurant staff to be in on your plans you might have to make reservations earlier – whether it’s writing Marry Me on a wine bottle, plate or on a napkin, they will sure have several suggestions for you. Just don’t hide the ring in food – you wouldn’t want it to be swallowed! Now, depending on whether you can stand a large crowd or not, you might need to know when the restaurant has high or low crowd.
- Discovering the Ring Somewhere Unexpected
You may not be the romantic type so your partner will be suspicious if you suddenly want to go out for a fancy dinner, even on Valentine’s Day. Thus, put the ring someplace common in your house- this might be in the soap dish, bedside drawer or under the pillow with a note attached that says “will you marry me?” Try to be around when it is discovered, so that you can drop to one knee to pop the question.
- Photo Banner
Arrange a surprise proposal with a printer or photographer. Have them do a large banner size picture of you two with words written below that say, “Will you marry me?” and “Yes!”
- Beach treasure hunt
This would be pulled off best in company of a couple of fun-loving friends. Personalise a treasure hunt game or idea to suit the moment- get creative. Bury the ring in a larger box on the beach and let the clues lead her to the ring.
- For the really nervous guy
Slip the ring on while your soon-to-be fiancé is sleeping and then do a romantic morning wake-up call with champagne and strawberries or Marry Me written boldly on your pillow
- Fresh out of the oven
Order a custom cake with the proposal written in frosting. Then, have the cake displayed in the storefront and take your partner window-shopping. Suggest buying the cake and go down on your knees before she starts to wonder what you are up to. Bring the cake home to share and celebrate afterward!
Now that you’ve figured out how to propose, it’s time to figure out the ring!
